Foundation Church began as a simple and obedient response to a call of God which the Herschell family received - to plant a new Church in Rangiora that would carry a passion for both the Word and for the moving of the Holy Spirit.

What started humbly in a living room with 5 adults, then grew into a small group of people hungry for truth, presence, and an authentic Christian community. From there Foundation Church has grown into a strong local church family who are committed to seeing lives transformed by the power of the Gospel. From the beginning, the heart of Foundation Church has been clear: to build on the unshakable foundation of Jesus Christ alone, and to see a new wave of ministry released that brings the Word and the Spirit back together in Church life, discipleship and global mission.

Foundation Church is led by Jesse and Fliss, and is governed through a plurality of elders who together provide spiritual oversight, accountability, and spiritual discernment.

We believe Jesus Christ is building His Church and that this is only the beginning.

Our calling is to participate faithfully in His work — submitted to His lordship, anchored in the authority of Scripture, and led by the Holy Spirit who dwells, leads, and prepares the children of God.
